In this whiteboard animation, I present sustainable solutions inspired by nature for construction, architecture as well as ventilation, heating and cooling buildings. 25% of the total CO2 emissions worldwide are attributed to heat and energy and residential and commercial buildings are responsible for about half this 25%, so 12% of total greenhouse gas emissions so we need to do better on this.

Do you know other biomimicry examples that can directly address sustainability and climate change issues? Please share them below… 👍

    1:30 it should be CaCO3. Not CACO3.

Excellent video! I just shared this with my YT community. I am planning to create more short videos on specific biomimicry applications later this year. Great work! I recommend watching a series on CuriosityStream called 'Evolve' hosted by Patrick Aryee. The show focuses on biomimicry applications for solving human societal problems and is absolutely stunning.

Is it possible to buy wind trees for privat use? If so, where would you start your search for providers of theese or similar products?

There’s one of those wind trees near my house. Unfortunately they placed it around buildings and trees in a dense area, so I have never seen it move.

I would love to have such a wind tree in my garden. Why don't we make a tiny wind tree forest close to villages. Much better than those huge and ugly Windturbines planted all over the place.
