Dr. Jordan Peterson sits down with the Premier of Alberta, Danielle Smith. They discuss Bill C-59, the detrimental effects of the Green Party, the destruction of Canada’s wealth by Justin Trudeau, and the modern message of the Conservative Party.

Danielle Smith is a proud Albertan. As leader of the governing United Conservative Party, she was sworn in as the 19th Premier of Alberta on October 11, 2022. She represents the riding of Brooks-Medicine Hat in the Legislative Assembly. Ms. Smith has had a lifelong interest in Alberta public policy, finding the right balance between free enterprise and individual freedom, and the role of government.

Impressive interview. Danielle is very detailed and direct in answering any questions. Quite shocking how knowledgeable she is regarding the energy industry in her province. This only made me like her more after watching and terrified that our high swing in urban areas to NDP may not find her in power for next term. I agree with some of the comments that Pierre and her could do some serious economic magic together.

Don't forget Canadians it is your duty to indicate to these politicians that they are in violation of your rights and indicate to them which rights you are they are violating if they enact a bill if they proceed with an acting that bill after it being informed of which rights they are violating and that Bill gets passed those individuals are guilty of a greater crime that you may not even be aware of

Once Taxes go UP? They NEVER go down! The Gov't NEEDS a PAY RAISE and PENSIONS!
Why am I still at $15.00 for Minimum wage? The sad thing is that the NDP increased our Minimum wage! TY for doing NOTHING for Albertan's!
The Chances of DTJ winning in America? 96% IMO. That will allow DTJ to circumvent Biden's resolve to stop that Pipe Line from Hardisty AB into the USA. That will ne YOUR "Windfall". I just don't BELIEVE in YOU!!
IF you want to know how Oil/Gas is PRODUCED? 25 Years experience here!
Actually go and do the work for 12 hrs. instead of reading books! Whether it is +40c or -40c. You wouldn't last 3 hrs NOR would any of your party or any Opposition for a FACT!
I honestly got tired of paying MORE Income tax then most people got paid after Taxes for in two weeks! GO FIGURE!
Lived it done it and the Political Party only cares about the MONEY! I don't Support those that will NOT Support me, which will be NEVER!

Just look at ice core samples from the Arctic. During the Jurassic age, when nature was exploding, CO2 was over 2,000 ppm vs 450 ppm today. Plants die at below 200 ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Stop the co2 capture. It is utterly ridiculous that we would take plant food (co2) out of the atmosphere. People with more than half a brain need to listen to scientists like Dr. Tim Ball, Dr. Willie Soon, Dr. Patrick Moore and Dr. Freeman Dyson. They all say that we need more CO2.

You have to understand the agenda, its not about the environment and its never been, it's about control and the decimation of the middle class. If not for that, the entire fiasco would look like one idiot after another imposing an agenda of stupid……but when you own the news, they sing your tune.

I've always seen myself as a Canadian first — I had the good luck to have wandering parents who allowed me to grow up in the west, the north, the mountains, the great lakes area, and the prairies. But the older I get the more aware I am of the terrible political inequalities between Eastern and Western Canada. If you look back in history, the East has always behaved like taking on Rupert's land was this huge burden-they looked down on natives and the necessary but undesireable East Europeans settlers – though they have managed throughout Confederation to redirect much of the resource benefits towards Ontario/Quebec. Don't forget, the west was settled through treaties. Making treaties to me means making allies. Just as Ottawa shamefully did not stand to help Germany and Japan when they asked for help with energy, Ottawa has been a horrible ally to our own domestic allies, the First Nations. Many of these Nations also want resource development in order to build the infrastructure they need that Ottawa will never build. I hope the east does not also say "No" to them. We have heard no from Ottawa for far too long and are at great risk of falling down the rabbit hole of an extreme ideologue named Guilbeault, who seems to have some strange mesmeric control over the prime minister……

The Equalization formula needs to be changed to take into account a province's resources and potential to provide for itself. If Québec chooses to leave it's natural gas in the ground, then no Equalization payments for it. If you deliberately choose to be poor, then you don't deserve welfare.

the separation of church from state was for the country not to be ruled by one religion group. it is not to separate religeous bleliefs from government. in other words the teaching of religion can not be separated from laws . the best laws that work for mankind are based on religeous teachings. for example the two greatest religeous teaching is to love god and to love your neighbor as yourself. to reject this teaching will be the downfall of any country from having a free and democratic sociality

Premier Smith said some very sensible things regarding the federal government’s plans to fight global warming. However, in an interview that ran more than 100 minutes she never explicitly suggested that the Canadian government withdraw from the Paris agreement, which binds Canada to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 40% below their 2005 level by 2030. Donald Trump withdrew the US from the Paris agreement as US president. Maxime Bernier wishes to withdraw Canada from the Paris agreement. Why doesn’t Premier Smith concur? If she takes it as a distinct possibility that the social coat of an extra tonne of CO2 emissions is negative, which was Jordan Peterson’s contention, shouldn’t she be opposed to Canada being committed to the Paris agreement?

Ross McKitrick just published a paper on July 18, “The Economic Impact and GHG Effects of the Federal Government’s Emissions Reduction Plan through 2030”. Unlike Premier Smith he concluded that the Liberal backup tax, with all its faults, had been successful in reducing GHG emissions. He also believed that regulatory measures, including Premier Smith’s favourite, Carbon Capture and Underground Storage, generally imposed much higher costs for every tonne reduction in GHG emissions than the tax on GHG emissions.

And of course, the tax on GHG emissions could be made less onerous by reducing the rate, which is almost certainly too high, and changing the rebate structure, so it reduces income taxes rather than distributing Justin Bucks.
