Brad McDonald, COO of Continuum Ag, outlines the reasons why farmers should care about Carbon Intensity Certification.
Carbon Intensity (CI) Certification provides a new path for farmers to be fairly compensated for the work they do to reduce carbon intensity. This talk will focus on the potential opportunity and how farmers can capitalize on the soil quality and conservation work that they are already doing.
Brad grew up on a hog and row crop farm that has been in his family for over 100 years. He graduated from Notre Dame in 2011 and then worked for Bunge at their global headquarters in White Plains, New York as a commodity analyst. He has since worked in Ag Finance with Wells Fargo in Chicago and eventually started an e-commerce company for farmers. Within three years, the company represented 11 million acres and Brad was named one of Forbes 30 under 30. Brad exited his first venture in 2019 to purchase fenceline ground to the farm he grew up. He has been working with Continuum since the summer of 2020.
This presentation was part of our virtual 2024 Winter Grains and Cover Crops Conference.
