The real question here is why American companies such as the Dish Network is allowed to broadcast the English and Spanish channels on CGTN?

They should have their broadcast license pulled until its removed. Its treason!

The CCP makes the Nazis look like a bunch of Girl Scouts. Conservatively the CCP has been involved in at least 450 millions deaths since the 1920s Chinese Civil War. Their forced abortion programs alone, by their own admission, killed at least 332 million. The highest estimate for all of WWII is 85 million.

If Disney can keep mosquitos out of Florida… it's possible, if only they tried.

But the funny thing is that I keep fish and the new guppy tank exploded with babies! And my mom was on weChat with my aunt (they're in their 70's) and she made a joke and said to scoop out the baby fishes and add them to make soup! 😵‍💫😵 I'm like these dang Chinese ppl won't leave my pets alone! PETS are not FOOD! mmmkay?! Being a 1st gen Chinese American is so hard… gotta fight racism and yo family from eating everything! And they are literally tearing up the yard trying to plant invasive plants —which make me have the hardest time trying to pull everything out bc of the HOA! 😤😮‍💨

My dad owns a house, and a lot of plants because he loves gardening. It can take him hours to water all the plants especially in the summer. And then there's the pest control. But he's a handy man, he can take care of it. As far as I can tell he was into gardening before I was born, and still doing it now, decades worth of experience.
Scales all of the above (except handy man) to what you have seen in the CCTN clip, and the whole task becomes astronomical. All I see are water guzzler towers.

I just love how the freeze frame / title card from the CGTN video looks like someone abandoned a few well built (aka non chinese) buildings for 30 years and now they‘re making a documentary about the wild reclaiming urban areas.

    Like… Yes it looks green.
But not in they way people want. That‘s „we didn‘t have the money for a gardener and can‘t be bothered to do it ourselves“.
Not „we‘ve got this beautiful apartment that combines luxury and nature

the Chinese civilization evolutes from agrarian society, so the self-sufficient mindsets are rooted in their mind deeply, that's why the Chinese like the plant vegetables and fruits in their unoccupied lands. on the contrary, the Europe civilization evolutes from pastoral society, and the looting mindset are rooted in their mind deeply. that's why they just loot everything they like.

Park royal hotel in Singapore is the building you are referring to. Rooms have windows with fly screens. But don’t think there were balconies. Didn’t see any bugs.

  • @iluvsilva8236

Given that Chinese buildings aren't built to last, why would anyone buy into these apartments with so many trees, plants, or soils?
These balconies are going to collapse in 10-15 years especially in areas with strong winds or typhoons.

youre complaining about that?….. thats a GOOD thing…. its better to grow edible plants than decorative ones.

There is a residential building that is covered in plants in Sydney. The strata cost is 20,000 dollars per year for a 2 bedroom apartment. The strata cost is 4 times the normal cost of strata for a similar apartment. The price of the apartment is about 1/3 lower than anything in the area because of the cost of owning the apartment. So clearly this is a terrible idea and if it in china it would be done with little care and would be catastrophic for the value of the property and the liveability of the apartment.

It's not one building in Singapore that has plant space up the side of the building, it's MANY, and to add ANY new building has to be built this way in Singapore. Their laws require that for whatever ground space a building occupies, it must provide at least the same amount of growing area.

It works well in Singapore because they know what they're doing. People who go to Singapore notice how cool it is walking around outside compared to say getting away from Singapore a few miles. Singapore is full of wildlife again, it's basically a city in a jungle now.

And no, Singapore isn't going to change this though they WILL expand this as old buildings come down and new ones go up

It’s annoying that on some buildings and even in some offices, plants and green walls are perceived as making the building ’green’. Its actually the energy and resources consumption profile and of course the initial concrete pour 😂
