As Grand Rapids’ commercial space expects significant amounts of new construction and sales transactions over the next 30 years, considering code is important to ensuring zero-carbon action during this “decisive decade”. A zero code provides the framework combining energy efficiency measures which combines efficiency requirements with on- or off-site renewable energy requirements to meet a building’s anticipated energy needs.
Join us Thursday (5/5) at 9:00 am with Erin McDade, Senior Program Director, to learn about Architecture 2030’s Zero Code formula to calculate the renewable energy needed to meet a building’s energy demand after satisfying the energy-efficiency requirements of the ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2019 / IECC 2021. Accompanying McDade will be John Dalzell, Senior Architect for Sustainable Development of Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA). Dalzell will narrate Boston’s experience and plans for implementing ambitious building decarbonization through leveraging renewable energy procurement.
