Mike Jackson is the Managing Director at Earthshot Ventures, where he invests in entrepreneurs solving the toughest climate challenges. He has built an impressive career as an investor, entrepreneur, board member, and advisor in sectors such as clean energy, food & agriculture, buildings, mobility, and public safety. Drawing from his extensive experience across all stages of startup growth, Mike is dedicated to helping climate startups scale.
Previously, Mike was a partner at the Westly Group, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm with over $400m under management in the clean energy sector. Starting as an intern, he quickly rose to partner in under five years. At the Westly Group, Mike’s 10 deals raised over $1.1 billion in follow-on funding, with three successful acquisitions, one IPO, and five active, growing companies in the portfolio.
Before the Westly Group, Mike co-founded and led Village Green Energy, a renewable energy provider. He also served as the Indian Program Research Coordinator at Stanford University’s Program on Energy and Sustainable Development, focusing on the impact of global energy market changes on developing economies.
