So may Australians have had their opinions poisoned by decades of green activism. Few know that nuclear has the lowest deaths per TWh of any energy source.
Nuclear is something that progressives and conservatives can get behind.
Nuclear power generation is one answer and it should be seriously investigated. Why we don't build more coal fired power stations has got me beat. We have enough coal for 300 years. We have a government that needs to stand up for coal power generation and to stop listening to the hand wringing greens. I mean, the dopey left in south australia gave us proof that power generation, based on renewable energy in its different forms, just does not work if the sun decides to be obscured by cloud. Use the resources we've already got…coal. Cheap and effective. Build another ten coal fired power stations and ignore the climate change crap that the greens are trying to hand us.
STOP ,, NO SUCH THING AS ZERO EMISSIONS, ITS CALL NUCLEAR WASTE , It is an emission,, yes all the power we need ,,BUT,, with every bit of nuclear waste means cost forever, storage and monitoring for ever! Ask when does the waste become safe ? 10000 years or so ! Tell me any civilisation that lasted more than 500 or 1000 years? Who will be around to tell the future Australians where shit is buried? Not safe not sustainable not cost effective VERY unhealthy! IN FACT A KILLER ! Chernobyl comes to mind ! Japan ? Three mile island ?
Yes. Molten Salt Thorium reactors specifically. Look it up, you will be intrigued.
Nuclear is NOT the only game in town, we should be digging more coal and building modern, clean coal power planets. Australia has enough coal for the next one thousand years at current levels of mining.
If you can't educate this stupid country of the reality of climate change, how are you going to educate them on nuclear?
Nuke power is 1/2 of any other fuel, except gas, and fracking.
Forget solar and wind or be like the Australian cities with power black outs. So 3rd world.
Plants and tree breath carbon and exhale oxygen and that means a greener planet. So what is this argument about carbon? It is completely stupid.
Also make our 12 brand new future submarines nuclear and stop wasting tax payers money on converting these nuclear and proven Barracuda designs to diesel/electric only to be converted to nuclear down the track.
We are the lucky country and smart country so starting acting like it numnuts in Canberra.
By the way QANON sent me. WWG1WGA.
Nuclear energy is the most dangerous source of energy there is – my father worked on the atomic bomb project in the 1940's and he spent many years touring the US giving lectures on why nuclear energy is only a stopgap energy source and is too dangerous to life on our planet – a ticking time bomb so to speak – it's only a matter of time before we destroy ourselves with nuclear energy
Thorium.
Safe cheap and can be used on small scales
Who cares what Greens think anymore because their vail has been lifted and we see them for the Communists they are and they want Australia to fail so China can take over
Thorium!!
Common sense prevailed in the UK ,lets have it here as well . Get rid of socialist lecturers in the UNI's for a start ,then the ABC and sort out the greens with a cricket bat and we should have a good start on getting this country going . Water is Number 1 priority , Power Number 2 , Bush Management Number 3 , Then we work on pollution , lowering our footprint on Earth .
Up front with the Australian ppl what a joke this millionare Politician Keith Pitt is…aptly named though.
What about "Nicola Tesala Tower Technology" NT created free electricity 100 years ago, "The Tesala Tower" they can be built to run a house or a city. It was suppressed by the greedy Banksters cartels & oil Barrons at the time.
. Worth a look !
I don’t think Shorten and Corbin can be compared like that. Shorten was unpopular and ineffective but ultimately a decent human. Corbin is an ideologically dangerous pig.
Nuclear energy is more dangerous than gas because Nuclear power plans is man made and gas is from the earth 🤔
Cue agenda.
I think public support for nuclear power is far higher than 50%
No emissions??? What about all the mining for the uranium???
Solar power is OK when the Sun Shines just 50% of the time, however Wind power is very expensive, inefficient and unreliable. Hydo power is great and CO2 friendly, but the Greens won't allow any more dams, even though we have a growing population and a need for more water and electricity. Go Figure! Coal is currently the cheapest for 24/7 reliable power, and must be OK for CO2 emissions because the UN Climate Change Policy has allowed Communist China to build 2 Coal Fired Power Stations every month for 10 years, when China is already the biggest polluting country in the world. Makes you think that China controls the UN? I would like the next UN Climate Change meeting to be held in China. Nuclear power also provided 24/7 reliable power with little CO2 emissions, but the Greens won't allow Nuclear. Do the 2 faced hypocritical Greens really know what they want, or are they just trying to destroy industry in Australia? We have abundant supplies of Coal and Uranium in Australia and should use some here, and for the sake of the planet, stop exporting it to big polluters like China.
Spent uranium is radioactive and deadly for up to one hundred thousand years. Stop making carbon the ENEMY with #FAKENEWS
This is no-brainer. Without nuclear energy are we soon back to the stone age. Climate change or not. Fossil fuels are finite and are probably renewing at extremely slow pace. Renewables are not abundant enough and most of all intermittent, difficult and expensive to storage. Thorium 4 gen fissile reactors are the only possible future as long as no working fusion power plants are available. Simple, but for some reason environmentalists are against this and I wonder why.
