Kim Jae-hee tells us more.
South Korea’s Ministry of Environment will build the foundations for a carbon neutral society and help the country get 300-thousand electric or hydrogen cars on the road this year.
This is according to the ministry’s basic policy plans for 2021 announced on Monday.
The ministry’s three main tasks for this year include laying a solid foundation for a carbon neutral society, producing tangible results under the Green New Deal initiative,… and establishing a system to prevent environmental problems causing a threat to public health and safety.
“We will come up with a scenario to become carbon neutral by 2050. We will push to increase the 2030 greenhouse gas reduction target, and also cut greenhouse gases from the waste sector by 19 percent this year, compared to 2017.”
The government also says it’s aiming to bring 300-thousand units of electric or hydrogen cars to the roads this year.
“We will achieve commercialization of 300-thousand future cars this year and expand charging infrastructure. We will encourage public institutions to have hydrogen or electric cars make up at least 80 percent of their new vehicle purchases, and urge private companies to convert all their vehicles by 2030.”
The ministry will also promote the transition to future cars by raising the supply target of electric, hydrogen and hybrid cars from 15 percent in 2020 to 18 percent in 2021.
It also pledged to create 30-thousand green jobs this year, by supporting 420 promising green companies,… and vowed to continue to strive to improve air quality by reducing fine dust levels.

Korea's enviromental group is a corruption group that moves to make money.
    Though they're very environmentally destructive..
Because they support the left wing government (moon-jae-in)
Their corruptions are protected by the government.
