Australia is a world leader in the global shift to clean energy, providing secure, reliable, affordable electricity to Australians while transitioning from the incumbent electricity systems to dynamic, decentralised grids. In fact, Australia has more rooftop solar adoption per person than any other country. Increasing renewable energy in an electricity grid comes with challenges. To overcome some of these hurdles, like balancing supply and demand and advancing infrastructure, CSIRO collaborates with domestic and international organizations to drive innovation towards a decentralized, affordable, reliable, and secure net zero emissions energy system by 2050. This video describes some of these challenges and opportunities.
