Which have these have you used?! Whatβs your favorite?
I know you advise against sponges but when I was homeless I spent my last couple of quid getting one when I couldnt afford pads/tampax and it was a lifesaver. I always keep one for emergencies in my bag as a just in case alongside cloth pads and a menstrual disc…you never know
Curious to hear if Mama Dr Jones has heard of the new study that tested around 30 tampons from 14 different brands, and ALL of them contained led and various other heavy metals… Unfortunately the scientists that published the study didn't reveal which brands they were testing, but the brands were picked, if memory serves, from the US, the UK, and Spain. So it's safe to assume they tested at least the most well known brands. Scary, right!?
pleeease talk about the period cup and prolapse. I just googled it and freaked out by this info.
Had a 75% off sale on tampons here awhile back, and no strings attached.
Washable pads are the only thing I can use. Iβm allergic to everything else π
When l was 11 yrs old in 1964 my grandmother told me about how she handlled her period. She wore multi layers of rags inside her underware. She chanded them several times a day. She never went out on those days because there was no liner to stop leaks The cloths were soaked in soapy water over night and washed. They were hung on a clothes line to dry. Several yards of material was used to make the cloths.it was after WW2 that gause pads were made available to the general public. She was so happy she burned all the cloths.
I use a cup & washable pads, but keep some disposables too. And I know what Staphylococcus Aureus is because it appears in "Cells at Work"!
the idea of them is hard to get into, like you said, but period panties are amaziiiiiiiing.
Used to go to bed with both an overnight pad and a regular pad, and id still wake up with blood through the pants and into the mattress but period panties completely stopped that :O
I very much recommend period undies for people with a heavy flow
I have used disposable pads, tampons w applicators, normal tampons then menstrual cups and finally washable pads when I'm swollen and don't want to use a cup. By far, menstrual cups are the best and after a few times, using menstrual cups becomes a breeze and no smells. I'm really sensitive to smells and when I used anything else, I kept smelling blood around me. Hated that, the constant smell of blood. Will never go back to anything else. Sometimes, I even forget that I'm having my period.
I live a combo life. Either disk or cup if I plan to leave the house and pads at home because I can shower anytime I want.
I love my cloth pads and have only used them for about 8 years now. Same ones too
When I saw the cover of the video I said out loud β is that a potato β ππ β€
I use spongey type of tampons (the manufactured ones, of course), but they are not intended for multiple uses. At least in my country they are marketed as "sex tampons" or tampons for swimming pools and they are to be thrown out after usage
I am so happy that period undies and reusable pads are getting more common here in germany. Before i only head about cups but since i have vaginism that does not work for me
I always got itching red irritation with normal pads… ive been on washable pads and period knickers for years now and i love it ! No irritation, cheaper in long run and good for the planet ! β€
A cup was life changing for me. I had really heavy periods my entire life (I was told my periods were so heavy and so irregular because I am fat – since it was "my fault," I never complained about it again). I would change a super plus tampon and an overnight pad every hour for the first couple of days of my cycle. With a 30 ml menstrual cup, I could dump it hourly and not have to spend a small fortune on period products. I was glad I am a mutant at a really high risk of cancer so I got a hysterectomy to prevent cancer.
I wish I had the information in your videos in the 1990's. I'm using it to educate my daughter.
I have used the Hannah pads, it is recommend to hand washing them. Hannah also sells special soap for their pads. (1:1 Oxyclean and washing soda does the job. too.) DO NOT use regular laundry detergent on them. π©
Ive been using cloth pads for a few .months and they work great. Comfortable, washing them is easy, and i don't have near as much trash.
I just asked my girl why does she keep saying you people. Shouldn't she be saying you women. And why is she explaining this to adult women ? I believe they know this by now. And she totally agreed !!!
Okay, so, I'm younger, and none of the women in my life are comfortable/willing to talk about this stuff with me
I know I would be uncomfy using a washable pad or the period panties, I dislike pads now because I hate feeling like I'm just basting in my own blood, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on menstrual cups or disks and how to choose what would work best?
