Reforestation projects could be just what we need to turn the tide of climate change, and this Mexican village is setting an example for all to follow.

Some sources say humans have eliminated nearly half of the world’s trees thus far. The removal of forests, also known as “deforestation,” affects not only the animals who live in them but the people living around them as well.

In a sense, trees are Mother Nature’s vacuum – they store harmful carbon dioxide and pollutants. Human activities have increased the amount of greenhouse gases in the air, driving climate change, but trees help keep the air clean.

This is where Plant for the Planet comes in, one of the world’s leading tree planting organizations. Plant for the Planet is an international movement of forestation projects, with the goal of planting a trillion trees all around the world.

There is no climate change. Plant trees for clean air and water.

So thankful to see these good folks working down there. We need to plant love for nature in people’s hearts as much as we need to plant trees. That’s a big job too, we can do it with God’s help, let’s get going folks.

It is a very encouraging mission, but it would have been more interesting to get to know the ecosystem they are working with and why those 6 trees have been selected as keystone species.

How do we know that it is "climate change"? What exactly is climate change? The climate has ALWAYS changed. Ever hear of the Ice Age?

Ew, please DO NOT show hydroponics when you say "we've gotten better at farming". You do not want to associate better farming with hydroponics, which is raising vegetables without soil… It's the most chemical way of growing plants. Nutrients are poor in the vegetables produced, and pollution is immense (they use plastic, chemicals, it's awful). Agroecology is the answer. For vegetables it's living soil farming : no till, huge amounts of carbon based mulch (like wood chips), coupled with a bit of nitrogen mulch (like grass clippings, spent barley from breweries, compost or manure). For big scale crop farming, it's direct sowing on cover crops.

There is a massive spiritual element to "climate change" and that is if people are being murdered or starved to death, or dying of thirst and heat exhaustion, the larger ecosystem reacts to it on a macro scale. So if you want to stop the Earth from being destroyed, plant food and medicinal trees, not just trees, so that all people and animals can eat clean, healthy food. Protect the orphans and allow then to grow into happy and healthy people. Every person is assigned their portion of sustenance when they are created and if masses of people are killed unnaturally, that portion of the Earth that was created to provide for them dies too. Provide people with water and the Earth won't become barren. Stop dropping fire on innocent people for money and trees won't burn in other parts of the world. Humans are part of this planet and if we love and respect each other, our world will be a happy and healthy place again.
